Yoba Frozen Yogurt

It’s getting close..

Posted on: October 4, 2010

Can you believe it’s already October? I am currently sitting in Panera Bread eating my bagel and tapping on my keyboard furiously like a crazy man and scaring everyone around me. Before I begin writing my usual nonsense, I would just like to point out that Google Searching ‘Yoba Frozen Yogurt’ produces hits to the Greene’s website, Yoba’s facebook page, and this beautifully written blog about the trial and tribulations of Yoba Frozen Yogurt and the crazy man with a mouthful of bagel. I didn’t try any of the other search engine because seriously, who uses AltaVista or AskJeeves anymore. I don’t know where I’m going with this observation, but I realized that this blog is potentially the first impression someone will ever have of Yoba Frozen Yogurt. Scary thought right? Maybe I should cut out the part where I’m a crazy man sitting in Panera Bread. I am actually a very nice person. I guess the point I’m trying to make here is that I have started to notice a lot of Goggle Search Engine hits on this blog and for any of the new readers, please start from my very first post titled “Yoba’s First Post!” and then work up from there. Everything will make more sense.

Alright so now we are about a month and a few days away from opening which I find extremely exciting, especially since I have been working on this since March. The final design of the store is finally complete and approved by the Greene Town Center. The plans have already been submitted to the County for both building permit review and health inspection review. Also this past weekend, I invited some close friends over to my house for a little taste testing of the product which was quite successful. The frozen yogurt was delicious as expected with the right amount of tartness and sweetness. I had pineapple, honeydew, and granola for the toppings which complemented the original tart flavor very well. I also made some bubble smoothies to try, however my 15 year old blender was not up to the task and hence my smoothie was not very “smooth”. That was lame, but I didn’t know how else to write it. Hopefully my commercial blender will be coming in soon so I can properly make some delicious bubble smoothies. My agenda for the upcoming week include finalizing the signs for the store, finding the right aesthetic pieces for the interior finish of the store, supply chain issues, and getting my book-keeping on track.

Before I forget, I also want to let everyone know that Yoba Frozen Yogurt is currently hiring and looking for extremely hardworking, outgoing, and engaging part-time employees. This was the main reason I wanted to start a blog post today. I have actually been receiving inquires about positions from several people and decided that I need to start advertising that we are hiring. I will be conducting interviews starting sometime in the middle of October. Why work at Yoba Frozen Yogurt? Well I think as a start-up company, working at Yoba Frozen Yogurt is an opportunity to influence corporate culture which I believe is a very unique opportunity. In my opinion, corporate culture is one the most important traits of any company because a happy employee is generally a productive employee. I look up to companies like Google, Facebook, and Zappos.com, because their corporate culture is to creatively use their employee’s talents to produce a valuable product. I want to follow those same goals here at Yoba Frozen Yogurt and I hope that is enticing enough for anyone interested to apply.

Otherwise, there really aren’t any other new developments. Spent a very relaxing first weekend of October with some good friends and looking forward to more good times in the coming weeks. I will keep everyone update with more blog posts to come. Also if you guys have any suggestions on how to make this blog better or what you would like to see at Yoba Frozen Yogurt, please comment! There is also a Facebook page that you can become  a fan of and comment on that page as well.

Thanks All,

Will

Yoba’ Just Enjoy

On my Agenda:

  • Happy Birthday to my good friends Michael and Zach who both turned the big 25 over the weekend.
  • Penn St. is playing some terrible football and I can barely watch them. Disappointing season so far.
  • Same with the Bengals who just lost to the Browns this past weekend. Carson Palmer has been terrible.
  • Big Congrats to the Cincinnati Reds! I have followed them ever since I could read the Dayton Daily News Sports Section when I was a kid and they have disappointed me year in and year out. Finally they made the playoffs!

It’s getting close isn’t it. By the time you post a November post it would be even closer then. I can’t wait to see who I will be working with at Yoba *____* (it’s a big grin). As with the blog I would love to see real yoba yogurt on the header. Um let me know if you would like me to photograph your products, as long as I can eat them afterward 😛 It’s good to hear that you’re starting to get hits to this blog but maybe 35% of them are coming me (and I’m not a stalker). You should leave the part of you as a crazy man sitting at Panera Bread as someone might put in the exact phrase on Google and your blog would come up. It’s a great way of advertising. I’ll let you know if I think of anything else.

This place sounds really awesome, and I would love to work here! I know it is in the middle of October, but I would still love you to consider me, I posted on the fb page that I would love to recieve an application, I go to the greene a lot, and I have never seen this place! I was looking down the list of shops and dining, because I am applying everywhere, and I saw this place, and it looks sweet! This is the only one i really looked into! Congrats on catching my interest!:D

My mom met you at Miles’s birthday party and told me about Yoba. It sounds SO cool. I love froyo and bubble tea and I think it is so interesting that you are starting a location where customers can experience both of these things. I would love to work at Yoba and I was wondering how I can acquire an application. I have plenty of experience and references that are available. The best way to contact me is through reply e-mail. Congratulations and good luck!
